What do you think of Obama's choice for running mate, Joe Biden? (8/23/08)

respondent quote
RECEPTIONIST: When you say running mate, is that something like in the Olympics where they run track? I watch the Olympics every night on TV even though I have no idea what I'm watching. You are talking about the Olympics, right?
UNKNOWN SKEPTIC: The problem I have with Biden is that he's too far to the right. He's too much of a hawk, too much of an old world statesman cut from the cloth of the industrial bully. It's just like how Gore watered down the Democratic ticket with what's his face, the guy who switched to Republican or whatever. I'll still vote for Obama unless he starts to bend too far to the right. I don't get the balancing of left and right. That's like trying to be fair by balancing good ideas with bad ideas.
CANDY: I'm a Republican. Why would I like Joe Biden or any other Democrat, for that matter? The only thing good I can say about that news is that now McCain is guaranteed to win. I don't think it's a great idea to pick someone who stepped out of the Presidential race due to blunders he made talking with the media.
COOL LEE: I usually don't follow politics that closely, because I respect whoever gets in office. But I will say that the candidate who gets my vote - is the one that advertises the most on TV. I don't vote for anyone until I've seen their commercial a dozen times. Now who is Biden? I don't seem to have ever heard of him.
WORKER JOE: It's all a scam no matter who wins. There are no good jobs anymore. Nobody wants to pay nobody no more. That's gonna stay the same no matter if Al Gore is the Vice President or Joe Biden. Suppose McCain does win and Joe Biden does become the Vice President, how would that make my life any better?
LEFT GUARD LARRY: If Biden's our number two man, let's spread the word. We already got Barack. It really doesn't matter who you put in at number two if number one gets the job done. With Barack and Biden as the dream team, Hillary got no chance against us in November.
GOOFBALL GREG: Man, I guess I'm blown away that Biden is the one Democrat who is tough on defense and national security and it turns out he's now the Vice President, which is kind of odd because now you have a Republican President and Democratic Vice President. My only question is wasn't there supposed to be an election on this?
WOMAN'S RIGHTS ACTIVIST: I thought Hillary should have gotten it, but hey, what do I know? I'm just another loudmouth shut out of another fixed election, thanks to the architects of the right wing conspiracy.
