RECEPTIONIST: I don't follow any of that political garbage, except for the fact that I watch West Wing.
What little I know about politics is based on that show, and that's pretty sad now that the show is getting cancelled. So I guess,
once again the real scandal is in Hollywood, not Washington. |
 |
UNKNOWN SKEPTIC: I get a kick out of all the scandals, because all of them leave Monica Lewinsky in the dust. There's so many of them, where do I begin? How about Bush lying about weapons of mass destruction, just so that he could drag us into a war and award all the defense contracts to his family buddies? Or how about running up the biggest national debt in history, and I forget, what are we getting in return? |
 |
COOL LEE: I'm not that up to date on politics, but I do hear things through the grapevine. For example, what is
all this talk that Bush is spying on my computer? If he really thinks I'm a member of al-Caida, then I guess he really is dumber than everyone says he is.

 |
JENNIFER: I think seeing Tom DeLay get smacked down by the legal system is pretty entertaining. Now that he has had to step
down as House Majority Leader, due to the bribery and illegal campaign spending charges piling up, I'm finally starting to believe that the legal system is fair - instead of just being a wall of jibberish that its corrupt authors hide behind. |
 |
SKULL MADISON: The only scandal this administration has to worry about is how far the obstructionists will go to filibuster the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. The object is to move as far right as possible, let the Supreme Court interpret the laws as they see fit,
as long as it's inline with protecting the Bush dynasty. Domestic spying of regular citizens is okay in my book, as long as it's designed to crack down on Bush bashers. |
 |
COLLEGE STUDENT: Gee, where do I start? You got a few hours? I think Bush's link with the lobbyist Jack Abramoff,
who has now pleaded guilty to defrauding Native American casinos, makes Bush look like a bigger gangster than I thought. And then for Bush to lie about his relationship with the dude, who gave him a hundred grand for his re-election, and then to see Bush back-peddle in front of reporters about a photo of the two together...how much more evidence do you need to arrive at the conclusion - that Washington corruption is a constant, not an anomaly? |
 |
CHUMPY SMITH: Every time it looks like Bush is about to get nailed for something, a new scandal pushes the previous one
into the background. It's an interesting political strategy. For example, early last year, one of Bush's old friends finally came out with a book that Bush did all kinds of illegal drugs in the sixties. It's ironic that Bush would shy away from that topic, since he owes his whole career to all the people under
heavy drugs who elected him. |
 |
MOVIE BUFF: I'm deep into the spy story about Valerie Plame. I'm still trying to guess which high White House figure
illegally leaked her name as a CIA agent to the press, obviously to discredit her and her husband for criticizing Bush's war. I suppose I'll have to wait for the movie because with the Bush story, each scandal gets overshadowed by a newer scandal almost every week. |
 |
JFK Historian: I don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I just watched a special on the History Channel
about how Bush and his dad belong to some secret society that's trying to create a world government, kind of like a
dictatorship. Then I find out John Kerry was part of the same club. I actually voted for Kerry just because his initials were JFK. Funny how no matter
who you vote for, all you're doing is voting for which TV puppet you want to take away your rights. |
 |
DAVE THE ATTORNEY: I know that it seems as though dark clouds hang over the Capitol right now, with the Robert Frist
insider trading investigation, the CIA leak, the Tom DeLay situation, the possible illegal eavesdropping of innocent citizens, questions as to whether or not
Bush approved of torturing prisoners, the illegal war in Iraq based on misinformation and how that may fuse into an expanded war with Iran, and Bush's
inability to quickly react appropriately to natural disasters and all those conflicts of interest involving Homeland Security contracts. Don't worry, all of this will be swept under the rug, especially if I'm asked to join the President's legal team. |
