TANGENT SUNSET

Do you think it's funny that Axl Rose is getting sued by his former bandmates over copyright issues? (8/26/05)

respondent quote
DJ YOYO JO-Z: Yo, how did dat name come up in the news again? The question ain't about Axl whoever. It's about 50 Cent and all the others in the new school, not the old school. When I mix, sometimes I do throw in silly oldies to mash it up but it's my beats dat I throw on top of all dat, dat make people dance.
JENNIFER: Sure it's funny. I thought Guns N' Roses broke up years ago over Axl's ego problems. Like I really care what any of those corporate millionaires are doing now.
SKULL MADISON: Yes, I find it to be hilarious that these rock and roll artists still have any kind of following now that the era has gone conservative. If that's what the left is all about then they've got major problems. Then again, from what I understand, Axl is an angry arrogant white trash bigot. Come to think of it, he and I may be on the same side.
WORKER JOE: Oh man, that's hella funny. Axl used to be cool until he went and had plastic surgery. Now he looks like a smiling manikan from Mars. Not even Michael Jackson looks that bizarre.
COLLEGE STUDENT: I usually don't laugh at musicians unless they're over-commercialized, and act like they know they're bad asses. I'm more into world themes and not so much bad ass themes. I like rock, but more the underground bands like Tangent Sunset.
COUNSELOR JENNINGS: No, I'm sorry to say this is not upbeat news. Axl clearly needs counseling and my services are certainly available. He must now face a suit from Slash and Duff that alleges Axl has taken too big of a share of the royalties. In order to achieve harmony with the universe, one must learn the art of balance and to resist greed. It's a twelve step program, but I only charge for ten.
SINGER BOY GIRL: Oh spare me. That deserves to be in the homophobic funny papers and that's about it. I'll never forgive Axl for making fun of gay people in the song "You're Crazy."
GOOFBALL GREG: Oh dude, Axl Rose used to be my hero. All those cool songs like "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Paradise City" and "November Rain." Then I was at one of their shows and Axl totally started ripping on Metallica, which was my total total all-time favorite band - until they started ripping on Napster back when it was free. Some rebels they all turned out to be.
