Did Tony Blair deserve to be re-elected as Britain's Prime Minister? (5/6/05)

respondent quote
GW BULLSH: I think so. The Prime Minister has done a great job as the top American ally in the war on terror. While the rest of the world snuck away from call of duty, Blair was bold enough to help the oil companies - I mean the people of Iraq - to discover what freedom is for the first time. Think of Tony Blair as one of the great liberators of our time.
CANDY: Oh I'm so happy for Tony. He's so good-looking for a guy whose celebrating his 52nd birthday today and he deserved to win. On top of that, he's a friend of President Bush, so he must be good. Even though he's from the Labour Party, which I would normally hate, he was the only other brave leader to help Bush win the war on terror. I think Bush and Blair are the two greatest world leaders of all time. (note: this character is under heavy medication)
JENNIFER: The reason Bush likes Blair so much is because Bush, a puppet himself, gets off on his own puppets, which includes Tony Blair. Ultimately Blair is a puppet of the military industrial machine that produces more profits than any other business on earth. Blair may have won a third straight election but his party lost over half their seats in the House of Commons, so I wouldn't expect him to stay in power much longer. Look for Gordon Brown to replace Blair sooner than later.
LEFT GUARD LARRY: I don't understand how a fool like Tony Blair can get on TV and tell a bunch of damn lies and then get re-elected. Then I have to remind myself that the same exact thing happened with Bush. Man, I was a D student in high school and I know I'm smarter than Bush or Blair. Does that mean I still have a chance of fakin' out the world that I'm the greatest hero of all time?
SKULL MADISON: I actually supported the conservative candidate Michael Howard, but I'll settle for Blair. Hell, he did what Bush told him to, against the will of a majority of insanely stupid, weak-minded war protesting cowards, so he can't be all that bad. We'll let Blair stay on our team as long as he cooperates with us and doesn't mind chipping in on our missile defense program. Soon Britain will be under the control of the United States anyway and the European Union shall follow. At least that's my interpretation of the way things are playing out, but I could be wrong.
WORKER JOE: I try not to watch anything on TV except basketball and baseball. So who is Tony Blair? Isn't he the guy who played a cop named Baretta on TV back in the seventies and he recently went to prison for murdering his wife?
COLLEGE STUDENT: Tony Blair poses as a socialist on one hand, but turns out to be a fascist on the other. I don't care if he's with the Labour Party or whatever, he's not progressive or modern or anything good. Tony Blair got his marching orders from Bush's zombie brigade and has acted accordingly. We all know that everyone in the U.K. hates him, and that when the second most unpopular person on the planet, next to Bush, wins with just 36% of the vote, all that proves, once again, is that the system is flawed.
GOOFBALL GREG: It doesn't really matter because all Tony Blair is - is the President of England, not the king. Right now the king is in charge of England, which is Prince Charles. I'm not sure, but I think the queen has more power than the king, even though it should be the other way around. But ya gotta figure the English do everything backwards, which is why they drive on the wrong side of the road.
