TANGENT SUNSET

COMMON CREEPS by Alex Cosper

Do you approve of President Bush authorizing intelligence agencies to spy on Americans? (12/17/05)

respondent quote
GW BULLSH: It's critical to saving lives. Who cares if the people we're spying on are innocent or guilty as long as the guilty are brought to justice?
RECEPTIONIST: Since all I mostly do is watch TV, as long as the government's not keeping track of what I watch on TV, I guess I have no problem with it.
GURU DION: Tell me something I didn't know. I've known for a long time that anyone's phone can be tapped or that anyone's computer can be hacked into. That's why I choose to not own a phone or computer but sometimes I use other people's phones and computers. I know it sounds paranoid, but these days you gotta be.
GOOFBALL GREG: Whatever Bush does is fine with me. He has my full support every step of the way. He learned from his father not to raise taxes on the rich, which is all that really matters. If Bush spied on me, I would feel honored.
DJ YOYO JO-Z: Hey man, if they wanna spy on me only to find out that I'm the dopest DJ in the world, more power to them fools. Somehow they gotta learn sooner or later what's really going on in the real world.
BROKER BOB: As long as they back off investigating corporate finance we should be in pretty good shape. It doesn't bother me if individuals are investigated - should one be suspected of being a terrorist. I just wish the government would let corporations have a little more flexibility with creative accounting, which helps rally the economy.
JENNIFER: It's funny how all the things I've been saying about Bush all along are finally coming out in the mainstream media. It's almost like the media is finally turning against Bush. It almost makes me think that fascism is starting to crumble after all.
SKULL MADISON: I'm not clear what the big deal is on this. The President has full authority to approve of sneak and peak operations by intelligence agencies on anyone they choose to spy on. It's a great law because it almost gives the President unlimited authority to crush anyone who opposes his views. Imagine, if he could crack down on all the liberal obstructionists, we'd be on our way to a one-party dictatorship destined to rule the world !!!! Isn't this exciting?
