RECEPTIONIST: I don't know anything about it, but I would have picked Judge Judy or someone else who
everyone has at least seen on TV. |
 |
UNKNOWN SKEPTIC: Sounds like typical Bush - just picking his friends from Texas. I have never heard of
Harriet Miers so I can't comment on it - other than it's not like Bush to pick the most qualified person for the job. |
 |
COOL LEE: The decision has been made so we should just accept it and move on. I hate politics, which is why
I don't concern myself with it. I trust Bush because he's the President and I trust my President because I love my country. |
 |
JENNIFER: She'll probably get confirmed by Thanksgiving no problem, just because the Democrats have been caving in
to the Republican agenda since the Supreme Court elected Bush as President five years ago. |
 |
SKULL MADISON: The lady was President of the Texas Bar Association, so she's obviously more than qualified. I really
don't give a hoot about the abortion issue. I'm more concerned that we continue to carry out the Patriot Act so that fascism will prevail. |
 |
WOMEN'S RIGHTS ACTIVIST: Even though I generally support women being appointed to the Supreme Court, I oppose women
who oppose women's rights if that makes any sense. I don't know what her stand is on the issues, but something tells me that she'll make Sandra Day O'Connor
look like a flaming liberal. |
 |
GORE SUPPORTER: Had Al Gore been allowed to serve the term that he was elected to in 2000, chances are he would have
been re-elected in 2004 and we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Bush just wants to stack the Supreme Court with right-wingers who pose as
moderates. Even though Gore himself was a right-winger who posed as a moderate all along, we still would have been better off. |
